This young man had 10 permanent teeth that had never developed. With some alignment help form an orthodontist and a long day at my office (Dr. Childress), in 4:30 of treatment time we made all of the corrections you can see in the photo. A 1:00 long appointment in the morning and a 3:30 long appointment in the afternoon allowed us to make a dramatic, long lasting change.
Today we had the opportunity to prepare, design, fabricate, and bond two 3-unit bridges in one day. With CEREC (CAD/CAM) and e.max (bridge material), we are able to complete each bridge in under 2 hours. Here’s how it works, we prepare the abutment teeth and get photos. This generally takes about 40 to 50 minutes. Then, the patient can either stay at the office or leave and come back in 45 minutes. During this 45 minutes treatment break, I design the bridge, mill the bridge in the CEREC, and process the e.max bridge in the firing oven. After all of that has been completed, the bridge is bonded into place.
